Learn about WorkFace Planning

The Material Management Database should deposit a material received file to a designated folder in the Document Control Database each week. The 3D Model administrator picks up the file as part of the weekly WFP software update. This allows the WorkFace Planners to overlay FIWPs in the 3D model with the material received information and produce a material status report for each FIWP. As illustrated in the Material Management Flow Chart, the status of material is the primary constraint for all FIWPs and is the trigger for the assembly of the Hard Copy FIWP.

For this process to be functional the Material Management Database must be structured to receive individual components by their 3D model naming convention. This should also reflect the Work Breakdown Structure.

To ensure that this is accurate the Material Management Database should be populated from the 3D model by engineering each week for the life of the project.
